Paris is only one day away and you know what that means. It’s time for the data dumps. First up is Jaguar Land Rover with its all-new Discovery sport-utility vehicle. For what feels like eons we’ve been following the Disco and watching it shed its skin.

Well, the full monty is finally here.

If you were expecting something especially boxy then you’re going to be disappointed. Not only is it more sleek, it also borrows some of the aluminum construction from the flagship Range Rover and the Range Rover Sport. That means it has dropped about 1,000 pounds.

Equipped with the Jaguar-borrowed, supercharged 3.0-liter V6 good for 340 horsepower, it will be quite capable. Mated to this motor will be an eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF. In addition, buyers will be able to opt for a 3.0-liter diesel; however, something makes us think it won’t be too popular given the diesel hangup in the U.S. market.

Consumers will have the choice of selecting a Disco with seating for either five or seven passengers. As is the fashion these days, the seats will be power folding and you can impress your friends by doing it via your smartphone.

According to the folks at JLR, they’re telling us that this all-new Disco — while a departure — will be able to get down and dirty, and dress up for a night on the town in the big city. This sounds good to us and just about any luxury SUV shopper.

On sale date is mid 2017 and the 2018 Land Rover Discovery will start at a base price of $50,985*.
