Photo Rendering: 2009 BMW 7-Series to take hints from CS Concept
The last time the 7-Series received a redesign was in 2002, and we all know how that went. So now, when the next-generation 2009 BMW 7-Series rolls around, design is expected to be toned down quite a bit. Sources say that the next-generation BMW 7-Series will have an even more elegant look than ever before.

According to these latest renderings the 2009 BMW 7-Series is expected to take design hints from the BMW CS Concept unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show. If you remember at the time of its launch, the BMW CS Concept was said to be BMW’s “new definition of design culture.”

As you can see from these images, the 2009 BMW 7-Series will receive a large grille as the CS Concept. The rear headlights will also take design hints from those of the CS Concept...

It looks very nice, and the back end looks so much better.

Will everything looks Lexus-ish to you, or is it because you whish lexus could look as good as a BMW.

Even though I hate Bangle designs, I have to say I'm seeing quite a number of Lexus/Toyota with the Bangle styling cues.

"The rear looks Lexus-ish."

Què?

This is straight from Wikipedia:

"Despite the controversy surrounding Bangle's work, numerous automakers have emulated his design elements. For example, several Toyotas (notably the Avalon and Camry) have utilized his stepped "Bangle-butt" trunk design. The new-for-2007 Lexus LS also bears some resemblance to the BMW 7 Series."

Jeezes Will what are you smoking..

Will, you act as if the people who spew the "Lexus hate" at you are the "bad guys," but your incredibly annoying "THEY COPIED LEXUS!!!" in every article is really what ruins it for me. How immature.

...to the outside world: Camry-esque

Needless to say, Adrian van Hooydonk's works impress me less and less, despite he started from a REALLY low level.

Even the front lights like like the Lexus LS headlights except they flatten or narrow it a little bit.

It an improvement on the current model but still ugly as usual.

Yea and we all know that the Lexus LS 460 front lights looks like the new Mercedes CL 550. Even the bloated old looking LS430 took designs of the old S-class coupe front and rear lights. Lexus is there anything else you would like to write?

The rear can't look Lexus'ish! LOL That design has been with BMW for over 20 years! All BMW did was reverse the turn signal from on top to the bottom of stop lights. Look at the 1990 BMC 5 or 7-Series. No one copies at bad a Hyundai but until very recently Lexus copied heavily.

Still the new 7-Series looks too much like the 3-series coupe. I doubt this is an actual 2008 7-series final look.

LOL, here's a video for the folks who are ordering the LS460's stupid self-park feature.

http://www.ehow.com/how_1872_parallel-park.html

Seriously, these people should consider surrendering their driver's licenses for not capable of doing a parallel park.

Just a natural evolution of design for the next 7-Series.

No it doesn't look like a Lexus, but when Lexus designs a car they try to imagine what the next Merc, BMW or Audi will look like and then that's how they design their cars.

Wow 200% improvement. I may have to like them again if they look like this. Although I blame you Americans for the style of the current one, always bitching about luggage and how many golf bags you can fit in the trunk.

It is a fact that the current 7 series has strong character and poise and this rendering shows that it will continue that tradition. To me it looks PERFECT, a big step in the right direction in terms of design.

What the heck do they think they're pulling on us???? Who ever did this photoshop must think we're stupid. That is OBVIOUSLY a three series sedan with the three series coupe's headlights and tail lights grafted on. look at it for a minute and look at the Three series coupe and sedan. Anyone who really believes that this is the next 7 is retarded.
