I hooked up my accelerator to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I'm gone.

Photo Rendering: Next Generation Golf VI
Production of the next generation Golf VI has been delayed a bit due to an order by Chairman Martin Winterkorn. It seems that a lot of Japanese automakers are doing their best to take over Volkswagen’s top seller in Germany. Either way, we are anxious to see what the next Volkswagen Golf will look like. AutoZeitung has created some photo renderings of the next generation Golf based on recent design hints. Is it just us or do you guys see a hint of the Jaguar XF in there? Check out the images. This particular rendering has been out way before the Jaguar XF concept was unvieled. Here is a web site with lots of possible MKVI renderings.

I think these are more likely (the first blue one)

Why so anxious to see the next gen Golf, when the current one basically just came out?

Current Golf has been out in Europe for a few years now.

The grille is stubby and I don't love the deep line running along the headlights, but the body is a huge improvement. I know this is just a rendering- but if they tweaked the front end a bit, it would be production-ready.

Too much Audi in it.

I don't like the front end, but the rest looks good.

I'm sorry I think I've shrunk my Jaguar XF in the wash...
It's not due for replacement yet is it? It's only been out 2.5 years in Europe, it's got at least 3 years left in it.

VW is racing to redesign the Golf/Rabbit to sustain profitability, and they have high hopes for it in the US market. I think the "new" Rabbit we have now is very appealing- but maybe they'll mess up the scheduling and give us the new Golf seventeen years after they gave you it, again.

Well the grill does seem a bit Jaguarish. No bad thing in my opinion. But front spoiler vents and rear lights are straight Audi. I thought Winterkorn did not want VW front ends to look too much like Audi's.I thought they wanted a more conservative but uniform design on all new VW's.This looks like they grafted a Jaguar/Audi snout on the Golf and put a VW badge on it. It;s ok for the Golf but I don't think it's sporty enough for the GTI or Sirocco. As for the Sirocco I wish they would do away with the hatchback look and go back to a fast back as it is supposed to be a coupe!

it really reminds me of a car, but I cant remember which car.... But it does look good and with good engine choices, it will (ofcourse) sell well just like the current one. The competition has really powerful engine choices, and the R32 can barely compete now.

Volkswagon is doing well at being mostly understated but not boring enough to compete with Toyota. The projector lamp lenses on this rendering, however, give me visions of Igor.

The Golf has nothing to do with a high-end Jaguar sedan.

If there was a car in this class that was as beautiful as the XF, it would be too expensive to be in this class in the first place!
