Criminals in the US beware! A futuristic police vehicle based on the Pontiac G8, which has plate-recognizing cameras and a laser gun that shoots tracking bugs to cars pursued, is being developed by Melbourne-based National Safety Agency.

The LAPD will serve as its test-bed for the latest technology.

Gizmag report also states that the features of the concept car include a touchscreen embedded in the passenger dash, linking to computer systems in the boot, while supporting three digital cameras. One camera will be scanning faces and the number plates of passing vehicles. A live feed to police headquarters will also be made possible.

Well Joe, when they stop shooting unarmed Black men for slight moves with a wallet or a car. Or stop tazing people for standing up for their rights. These days cops will shoot you if you say to them, "Whats your badge Number?"

I suppose when an officer gets shot and killed from those that make a move for a gun is ok. I know many officers and there dads and moms also. They never know who they are dealing with so my advice to you when you get pulled over, just do what they say and if your innocent you are ok. By the way HyundaSmoke... the badge number IS ON THE BADGE just read it!!!!!!! Joe is right

i thought it seemed kinda mindless that GM would simply discontinue the G8 in the US. A Chevy version & a law enforcement version seems to make good use of those R&D funds.

Good for you, now what about all the people who don't feel it is necessary to have to carry a gun around in order to protect themselves? Do they not need cops too since you and all those other people carrying guns will protect them? If you are in a store during a crime will you be the one to pull out a gun on armed masked robbers? Sure you can probably shoot the first one... but what if you aren't fast enough to get all of them? My point being, imo you are safer in this world without a gun, and with someone else enforce the laws and risk getting shot at.

The Law is Hypocritical and Amoral, becuase of that the leaders have no authority over me. Joe, its more likely youll be struck by lighting, than be a victim of a violent crime. Thats just fact. The media has people scared silly so they will: avoid over people, control other races of people, control certain classes of people, garner revenues through tickets by setting unrealistic and underinflated speed limits based on unedestimated safety regulations(Which otherwise could have been generated by taxes, but Americans are a little more selfish than the average human, and humans are sefish by nature, thus Americans are resistant to paying extra taxes for needed services in which they use or benefit from someone else using the service.), and garner revenues from people's life mistakes.

With about 1 in 576,000 people ever get struck by lightning every year. Your logic would imply that a city of 500,000 people would only get one violent crime every 80 years. No I don't think the media is blowing it out of proportion, I think your views of the media, and of law enforcement are very skewed and biased without any logical basis other then from the opinions of others.

Iam just being real. I voted for this guy to be a Black Robin hood, by taking from the rich and giving to the poor and middle class, forcing the rich to pay people more, and force socialized Medicine down people's throats.

Yeah Iam showing racism against cops, becuase Iam a racist against cops since cops are obviously a different race of people.

In some parts of America in majority minority cities 91z4me, in the Midwest whites are the cops. You can have a city with 60% minorities, but have 95% White cops, however Ive been roughed up by Black cops too. Most cops are evil people, but you sheepole see them as the good guys. The type of people who beat you for standing up for your rights, and then when you call them becuase some hoodlum steals something from your car they give you an attitude and treat you like the criminal.

I wonder how families defended themselves 110 years ago when most municipalities had 0 cops, and depended on the county sheriffs and deputies?

The over policing of America wil help precipitate its downfall. People are getting fu-king sick of these cops and think about it with: Twitter and facebook, and texting; a national uprising can happen over white officers getting acquitted over tazing a Black kid 60 times or something killing him becuase he wouldnt get down on the ground fast enough. Its happened in other countries and it will happen here.

You dont need a movement to have national riots now. You just need a phone with text, and a story about gross violations of civil rights.

The Invention of the Text Message democratized communication and social networking. Democracy=Mob Rule. Governments will never be able to stop people anymore from plottng against them. Well, thats if those people are smart and attack hard. If just 10 million people in the US followed a text message and organized behind the text message, then this republic will be in trouble.

The Government can try to do what ever they want to prevent this and be ready for it, but they will fail. Its not like we're a handful of guys meeting in a back room somehwere anymore hiding from the cops. The days of suicidal and asinine conspiracy plots are over.

Techonology will be the conpsiracy tool, and if people keep geting sick enough over the continued enslavement by our right wing government this tool will be used.
