Although there has been plenty of speculation about a baby Porsche in the works, we haven't seen any signs of it happening. Maybe with VW at the reigns we'll see some more legwork.
With that said though, apparently there are plans for a four-cylinder Porsche. According to Autocar, the supposed motor is a flat four that has the possibility of flexing its muscles with 360 horsepower. Taking that into account, I don't think many will knock its performance capabilities.
However, purists may not like the possibility that it could be employed in a 911 since it will have that much potential for power. Given that most manufacturers are looking for ways to lighten their vehicles and use smaller powerplants to increase efficiency, there is definitely a chance. We just don't know how large it is.
