Porsche seeking more power and influence at Audi
Three Porsche heads will join Audi’s supervisory board at its annual meeting on May 7. Porsche’s CEO Wendelin Wiedeking, CFO Holger Härter and the grandson of Porsche’s founder Ferdinand Piëch will all sit in to discuss further cooperation between the two.
Wiedeking has previously said that Porsche will share electronic architectures, platforms and vehicle distribution with the Volkswagen Group.
“In the future, we will share parts the customer doesn’t perceive, as we successfully did with the Cayenne,” Wiedeking said.
According to Automotive News, Porsche is looking to Audi for a version of the new Q5 to compete...

IMO I dont think they want Audi to have any performance cars that step on their toes.

This is quite amazing. The world's premier (or second premier after Ferrari) sports car auto manufacturer is negotating with Audi.
And some people think Audi's aren't world class? Hahaha......When a car company that has created sports cars that routinely humble all BMW M cars and trounce Mercedes-Benz AMG around a track teams up with Audi...you know Audi must be something special.

Ah yes, continuing the Autospies tradition of not dealing in factual evidence whatsoever...

Yeah, because it's common knowledge that Porsches are so much slower then AMG and M's.

Porsche REALLY needs to be on the board. I just drove the new S5 and was dissapointed on how loose the steering felt and tight corning felt like the car was dying. I did take it on a track and really pushed it. They made the S5 into a luxury coupe, but with the "S" badge on the back, i was expecting better handling.
Otherwise, it is a beautiful car, just leaves much to be desired at the $60,000 price point. I guess I am releasing a 335i.

This move is proof of Porsche's business dominance. They are a small sports car manufacturer that has the means to buy one of the world’s largest car manufacturers. It is amazing. VAG is many multiples larger than Porsche, but they just write a check and then sock the boards full of Porsche people. Brilliant. Porsche has been one of the most profitable car makers for the last decade. This move will allow them to make even better cars and reach for even more profits. .

Who cares... I think Audi should get all the help in the world from Porsche... their cars need some help on the handle and performance side of things (ofcourse other than the R8).
