The Chevrolet Corvette is an American automotive icon. Sure, it's not built to do everything well but it does give just about every driver a smile when they get behind the wheel and give it the beans.

And that, my friends, is what a sports car is all about.

We reckon though that with the next-gen SRT Viper being MUCH more refined than its predecessors, the 'Vette will follow suit. At least we hope.

If you've been following the 'Spies recently though you would have caught some spy shots of the next-gen 'Vette undergoing testing -- the shot that appealed to my eye was one of the vehicle's hind quarters. With a centrally mounted, quad-tipped exhaust and some seriously hard lines, this Covette clearly had something edgy going on underneath the camo.

Thanks to an artist overseas, we now can imagine what it would look like and from what we've seen, we're thinking this is the BEST rendering thus far.

Even when you look at the front and the front clip design, which was "leaked" by one of General Motors' third-party suppliers, it looks relatively accurate.

That said, if this is what the C7 Corvette looks like in the flesh, will you give it two thumbs UP or two thumbs DOWN?
