RS8 - Audi Supercar Prototype Meets A Fiery End On Nürburgring

According to spy shooter Hans Lehmann, the snapper who provided us with these unorthodox spy shots, this morbid hunk of a test car is actually an Audi RS8.

We’ll leave the brief telling of this sob story to Hans:

“With just hours to go on the last test day, the worst thing happened to the Audi test team. Just coming into the part Brünnchen at the Nürburgring, this million euro expensive Audi RS8 prototype caught fire and burned up totally. There is not much left of this super fast super car with a V10 engine.

Hardly "downgraded."

You just hate Audi.

The smaller engine doesn't make the car worse. The R8 can in fact keep up with a Gallardo... it's just $60,000 less expensive. It also looks more modern, with more curvacious lines. Not necessarily better, just what you prefer. Before, I thought Audi could never top the Gallardo's looks; how wrong I was.

Oh, WHY?!!! Why did such a beautiful car have to go?! That could've been mine someday!

But if you look at the pictures of it actually driving, there are clues to it having the larger engine: the "side blade," or air intake, has a little bump for aerodynamics, and it also has more aggressive side skirts. It looks even BETTER, if that's possible.

And it will NOT BE CALLED THE RS8!!! IT WILL BE THE R8 V10!!! AN RS8 WOULD BE AN RS VERSION OF THE A8!!!

I didn't mention any other car in the post, except the Gallardo on which it's based.

I didn't say the R8 was better than the Gallardo.

I think if it were to be V10, wouldnt a R10 be fitting, I agree with the RS8 being given to an A8...but yea, R10..

A lot of people have been deboosted on this article which is nuts..

And a rebadging that's not bad for a change. Rebadged Lamborghini. Nothing wrong with that haha. Worst comes to worst it's still an Audi, which means supreme fine finishing and quality parts. Win win situation.
