Over the past couple of months it seems that the serious publications abroad have united and announced that the all-new 2014 Porsche 911 (991) GT3 is one of the year's most impressive debuts. Considering the debuts of cars like the Ferrari F12, it's amazing that a 911 stole the show.

And you have to remember, Porsche is merely getting started with the GT3. That's because an RS is on the way.

Though there's been some speculation, it seems that the first details are starting to surface. Frankly, none of them should surprise you. As expected, the car will feature an even more stripped interior, PDK will be the transmission of choice and it will feature unique aerodynamics that according to Walter Rohrl says will increase the vehicle's oh-so-important downforce by 50 percent from the standard car. That's a remarkable achievement in the engineering department.

To achieve that the GT3 RS will feature a completely revised aero package, with winglets on the front spoiler - much like those that featured on the 997 4.0 GT3 RS...

The rest of the package will remain true to the RS doctrine, so lighter panels, thinner glass and an even more stripped, austere interior will feature. Like the GT3, the RS will be PDK only, Porsche insiders saying that despite reservations the response to the paddle-shifted, two-pedal GT3 has been resoundingly positive...
