As things tend to be pretty cloak and dagger in the automotive space, we're pretty interested to hear of the latest rumors and reports coming to us from abroad about the all-new Porsche Pajun. Although we're not sure that will be the car's name when it reaches production, it seems that Porsche is most definitely developing a BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class fighter.

The Panamera is just too expensive to close the gap.

Unlike the Panamera though, the talk surrounding the Pajun is not related to traditional, internal combustion motors. It is actually being spoken of as an alternative energy vehicle. This means it may come equipped as a full electric vehicle and Porsche may also explore hydrogen fuel cells.

Just when you thought hydrogen fuel cells were dead, Toyota drops the Mirai and now there's talk of the Pajun going hydrogen. Pretty wild stuff.

Thanks to our friends at Autocar, there's plenty of in-depth details being reported about the Pajun and its powerplants.

As of now we're more concerned with its styling that's said will echo the Sport Turismo prototype we saw years ago. If that's the case, we'll give it TWO thumbs up. Auto Motor und Sport rendered the vehicle and it can be seen in our cover image. In addition, I've attached our photos of the Sport Turismo from the 2012 Paris Motor Show, below.
