I wonder what that lesson would be? To actually sell a few units?

Sorry for the cheap shot, I had to.

According to the latest from the internet rumormill, the upcoming 2016 Chevrolet Volt is said to boast a new design and take lessons learned from General Motors' latest electric vehicle, the Cadillac ELR. One of GM's top dogs in the design department, Ed Wellburn, recently noted in an interview that the Volt will take some creative license from the all-new Chevrolet Corvette in its design.

Aside from the taillights, where could the company apply some design language? It will be interesting to see, for sure.

In addition, in a quick video Chevrolet put out this week the company shows the first driving footage of the new Volt with a senior-level executive behind the wheel, Mark Reuss. In the clip, Reuss rides along with the Volt's Chief Engineer, Andrew Farah, to better understand how the company has set up the new Volt's regenerative braking system. Essentially, the gist is the system can now be used via a paddle(s) located on the steering wheel. Reuss notes that the system is smoother than the ELR he's currently driving but we'll take that from what its worth.

I guess we can add another vehicle to make a debut at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS)?

With regenerative braking on demand, driving the all-new 2016 Volt puts the power in your hands. A steering wheel-mounted paddle that allows you to control your regenerative braking takes power that’s normally lost and puts it into the battery. That's just one of the many unrivaled technology features in the Next Gen Volt.
