Recall Friday: Chrysler Recalls 270,000 Minivans For Air Bags
DaimlerChrysler AG's Chrysler is recalling 2005 model-year Dodge Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country minivans to fix air bags that may fail to deploy because of corroded sensors, Bloomberg News reported today.

The recall includes as many as 270,958 minivans built from April 24, 2003, to Feb. 2, 2005, Chrysler told the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

I thought all airbag connectors were gold plated to prevent corrosion.

Breaking news!

"Chrysler North America has just released an announcement regarding the 2008 Town & Country. Chrysler will recall ALL 2008 model-year Town & Countrys due to what analysts call 'unsatisfying styling'. There is no announcement yet on how Chrysler plans to rectify the problem."

cont.

"Owners of other recent Chrysler products are hoping that their vehicles are also recalled. Jerry Duncan, a 2008 Sebring owner had this to say: "I noticed the problem as soon as I saw the car on the Internet. Unfortunately, I ended up buying it anyway, hoping Chrysler had rectified the problem during the production process. They didn't. Not even the horrifically bad interior quality will make me keep this car". Source: AutoNews.com"
