Ah ha! It took clicking on the article, but I knew it was Österreich, at least auf Deutsche.

I must say that I didn't realize they had not been in that market.

Does Rolls also have this German soul or passion thing?

If it has, Lexus won't compete will it, 'cause they all are rebadged Toyotas.

Nah, lexus is way to superior to rolls royce.... how about the toyota camry trying to compete with it? Or perhaps the toyota yaris trying to compete with a maybach 62S? Makes more sense doesnt it?

You are getting it all wrong again.

Lexus is far too superior to rolls royce. More luxurious, more comfortable etc. Toyota competes with rolls not lexus.

You serious?! Clarkson once mentioned that the silence in the cabin of an LS was sort of like in a Rolls Royce (or the comfort)! But he DID NOT, and i repeat DID NOT, nowhere or ever say that Lexus competes with Rolls Royce! That is like saying that Hyundai competes with Lexus...

And actually, you've got it all backwards, because Toyota DOES compete with Rolls Royce... Toyota actually does have a car which will beat any Lexus and might be on par with a Rolls Royce... Don't believe me? Look up the Toyota Century... But it isn't a real competitor since it is only sold in Japan...

Ohh, and btw: No such thing as Asterreichs... Asterreich Just a bad attempt at spelling österreich... or Austria to you, making the people Austrians...

This isn't even a Lexus thread so why bring Lexus into it? You guys sure love to start flamewars. Useless flamewars because their all baseless information and baseless views. IF you're not in direct contention with a brand don't bother speaking about it. Go home.

Sailor, 63... WHY ARE YOU STILL LISTENING TO HIM?! How can you not see that this is yet ANOTHER fake Lexus fan that's just making up this $hit? See what M53R's doing? It's fun. Play with it.

LexusFanForever, no, I really think Scion competes with Bentley and Rolls-Royce more than Lexus does... the xB was just so much nicer than any Phantom! The Phantom totally copied the xB's design!

S4...... you cant be serious! Man the xB is in another league! dont compare apples to oranges... The xB has a more luxurious interior an blows the phantom anyday!
Not to mention that the xB's V12 with 900hp is fast enough for a buggati!

Get your facts straight :P

I bet all the lexus fans that are that stupid are in fact created by agent001 and his team to invigorate the forum. Anyone wanna hold a bet against me?
I keep saying that and I'll keep it on until I get banned. The Agent(s) are just playing with us. Too bad they don't have a better way of waking up this website.

No, Lexus and Rolls Royce does not compete. Clarkson was doing a simple comparison between the LS and a Rolls not because they are the same class but a simple comparison between what they offer.

For the money obviously Lexus is much more cheaper. There is no way Lexus can compete with the ultra luxury segment. No one will buy a 300K Lexus give me a break. People buy a Rolls, Bentley, or Maybach not because of the price. It's for the supreme quality, comfort, luxury, status, name, all the good stuff.

Lexus and Rolls Royce can not go hand in hand. The names conflict. Lexus and Mercedes sounds a little bit better but even then most people respect Mercedes more anyways whether you like it or not.

Another dreamer from the Lexus fan club.

Quoted from LexusFanForever: "Lexus are also much cheaper and therefore more appealing to former Rolls or Bentley customers."

Keyword: cheaper

Case closed.

Sailor,

"Toyota DOES compete with Rolls Royce... Toyota actually does have a car which will beat any Lexus and might be on par with a Rolls Royce... Don't believe me? Look up the Toyota Century... "

...Hmm. I would still say that a $90,000 - $100,000 is still a far cry from a $357,000 Rolls Royce.

You're correct. The century is Japan's only V12 car.
It's built for their royal people.

It really is a RR fighter.

Only 10% of Rolls Royce owners are chauffeured in them [currently]. Granted, I am not sure if this included "special occasions" or is just the prototypical situation.

Maybe in the USA 10% are Driven

IN Europe and the UK only 10% of Rolls Royce Phantom Owners Drive Themselves

Why buy a Limousine and then Drive it yourself if you are not a Chauffeur ??

Never understood Americans.

Its almost as if the need to tell people you have money Completely Overwhelms the Logical side telling you not to buy a Luxo Barge that you are Suppossed to BE DRIVEN IN.

You want to sit in the Back, Buy any of the Folowing:
Rolls Royce Phantom // Silver Shadow // Maybach // ALL LWB Vehicles like BMW 760LI // MB S600L // AUDI A8 W12 L

You want to drive, Buy any of the Following:
Bentley (All of them)// All the Regular Lenght Luxury Vehicles.

[See I understand that in America you need Big Sedans to fit in all those Overweight Family Members hence a family of 4 need an S500 or 750]

Different Strokes for Different Folks I Guess.

You know,

I have never been availed of the limitation of that statistic. I may be only for the United States, it may not, were I to guess given the manner in which it has always been stated to me: I woudl say not. Hell, for all I know it is an even smaller percentage in the United States, but because the US is Rolls-Royce's largest market, it may be skewing the data. I don't know, but I'll ask if I remember next time.

The Phantom is not really perceived as a limousine, here I don't believe. The Phantom LWB would be.

Be that as it may, I think the perception that the Bentley is the "to be driven yourself" counterpart of the RR, is general here.

Now, now, don't go harping on Americans' weight. Yes, there are many overweight people here. But there are many exceptionally thin people here. I know many, I am one. I am a male who weighs 3 pounds less and is 4 inches taller than Heidi Klum. The caveat of course is that my mother is Swedish, luckily too I don't look anorexic: I just look thin. I have dated women who are significantly thinner than myself [two of which are now models: one of those two was recently married as well].

^^^^^^^^^ Im just having fun teasing the Yanks ^^^^^

As im sure you know,87.5% of statistics are made up on the spot and i was just kidding on the post above.

However, The Overwhelming majority of RR Phantom Owners and owners of other Luxo-Barges/ Limousines in the UK and Europe do sit in the back and do not drive these vehicles themselves (Tight Curvy Roads/Street networks might be one reason they prefer to be Driven)

And i know all americans are not Fat (But a huge chunk of the population is)

Anyway i think ive had my fun on that subject, You have a good Day :-)
