SAAB 9-7X Aero gets 6.0-litre LS2 power
In an effort to appease the great god of horsepower, SAAB have decided to launch an Aero version of their mid-size 9-7X and they have created a bit of a monster by stuffing a 6.0-litre LS2 Chev V8 between the front strut towers! Tim the Tool man would be grunting about now and we don’t blame him. Read Article

Absolutely not one comment here other than mine. Saab used to be kind of a cool "alternative" product. Now its just another GM stablemate with very few followers. I'm sure it'll sell on price but unfortunately little else.

This is definitely going to shake up their lineup. But, Saab definitely needs to go back to its roots and really create something that will bring back the originality and stop with the badge cloning with other GM products.

If rebadging a GM SUV as a Saab really was so crucial (guess it wasn't since the 9-7x really never made that big of a splash) Why did they choose the Trailblazer/Envoy/Bravada over the Cadillac SRX? I bet the reason is that if developed together the Saab would have been better than the Caddy!! Volvo has done ok under Ford, maybe Saab still has hope

Yes, that would've made so much more sense! The 9-7X is an abomination and cannot hold a candle to other Saab products, but a Caddy-based CUV would at least share the 9-3's good driving dynamics. The SRX is an excellent vehicle, and the Saab could have been a slightly downmarket, sportier version.

A Trailblazer SS with a Saab bumper, who cares?

The "old goofy designs and small turbo 4 cylinders" are what make Saab what it is. Without that, the Swedish automaker would be just like everyone else- and before you ask, that is NOT a good thing. Saab is quirky and always should be.
