Though the North American market is the strongest for just about every single automaker, it seems that a lot of the time it doesn't get all of the same goodies seen elsewhere. Sometimes it's a legal thing, sometimes it's a cultural thing and sometimes I don't think there's actually a good reason.

Sometimes we just get stiffed.

It's not just BMW either. Volkswagen of America is just as guilty and, come to think of it, even Ford is. For years Ford Europe turned out tremendous products and we didn't see the benefit until the economic downturn changed Ford's strategy to have global products.

This brings me to our subject, the BMW M5 Nighthawk Edition that's headed for Japan. This 2014 model year product will get a lot of the goodies you'd probably want:

- Frozen Black paint
- Dark chrome finishes
- Sakhir Orange interior — full Merino leather interior
- The all-new Competition Package
- Carbon ceramic big brake kit
- LED headlights
- Driver Assistance package

So, what say you?

SHOULD BMW offer the U.S. THESE types special editions?
