While there's been plenty of stories surrounding the all-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class and its variants — the estate, the coupe, the convertible, the Mercedes-AMG E63 — it seems that there may be something even more intriguing going on.

Although the three-pointed star is wrapping up development on a few different vehicles, it is just starting product development on the next-generation platform that will underpin the likes of the SL-Class and SLC-Class.

Given how low the body and suspension is, we're thinking Mercedes is going to continue improving the driving dynamics of its vehicles. Of course, this would be a welcome improvement though the company's efforts have been very impressive as of late.
