Here we go! While Audi and Mercedes-Benz have brought to market entry-level luxury sedans, BMW has been left in the lurch. It doesn't currently offer a 1-Series sedan or 2-Series "Gran Coupe," or whatever BMW's Marketing department would theoretically call it.

Meanwhile, the CLA-Class and A3 are hitting their respective targets when it comes to moving units off showroom floors. In fact, in the New York Tri-State region it's pretty hard to go anywhere without seeing one.

So, even though the 2-Series has received much critical acclaim and is considered "the driver's car" out of the lot, what's the Bavarians to do? Join them, of course!

Spotted for the first time since September, is the all-new 1-Series sedan. We figured BMW wouldn't ship us the 1-Series hatch found abroad, so, in order to better appeal to the North American market's taste, it is creating a sedan variant.

From the spy pics we're seeing, there is zero heavy cladding and, frankly, it looks like it should see a product debut at a major auto show before the end of 2015. Frankfurt bound, perhaps?
