Over the past 12-18 months we've been keeping an eye on all-new Porsche Panamera development mules. While we've seen a helluva variety at this point, one that perplexed us was the short wheelbase mule that had a jacked up ride height.

It was weird, to say the least, and didn't fit into the picture. And, why was it in a convoy with the all-new Bentley Bentayga? Turns out there's more to the story.

That's because it was actually the all-new, upcoming Bentley Continental GT. Porsche has been working with Bentley to develop the next-gen B car.

What makes the latest series of spy shots interesting is that they show the all-new Continental GT equipped with its production body. Although the shots aren't the best and they show a blacked-out Bentley, it's clear that there's some creative license taken from the concept vehicle, the EXP 10 Speed 6. It will be interesting to see just how sporty Bentley makes the next-gen car and how much of a grand tourer it really is.

Like the firm’s new Bentayga SUV, the Continental’s bodyshell will be a hybrid-materials structure, with assorted high-strength steels reinforcing a body made mainly from aluminium. The current car is steel-bodied...
