It's been an interesting handful of years for wagonphiles. That's because although the trend seemed dead as a doornail with sport-utility vehicles on the rise, they've made a strong comeback.

Though, if I am honest, I wouldn't be so sure if that's translated into more sales. BUT, automakers continue to churn them out.

By this point we've been covering the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class quite closely. We don't expect there to be a C-Class wagon making its way to the U.S. but anything's possible these days as the Germans continue to bring over any product that will guarantee more market share.

Spied for the first time overseas, the C-Class wagon is everything you'd expect a C wagon to be. At the moment we're guessing this will be a European only product but if we hear otherwise, we'll be sure to let you know as soon as possible.

The model is expected to launch shortly after the C-class saloon, which will go on sale in 2014. This prototype was spotted testing on German roads. The model could be seen as early as the Detroit motor show in January.

The estate is likely to offer even more space than the outgoing car, since Mercedes has confirmed the new saloon has a 90mm longer wheelbase. That move is aimed at providing more space in the cabin. Currently, the C-class estate offers 485 litres of space with its rear seats up, rising to 1500 litres with them down.
