Arguably the most important vehicle that Jaguar Land Rover has launched in the past five years is the Range Rover Evoque. Sporting sleek styling and boasting Victoria Beckham as a spokesperson for its launch, the baby Range Rover made a helluva impression on consumers.

Though in the hotly contested luxury sport-utility vehicle category, the going is getting tough.

At this price point you can pick from at least two Audis, two BMWs, two Lexus', two Mercedes-Benzes. And then there are the all-wheel drive luxury sedans. Cross shopping is as fierce as ever and the number one rule is there are no more rules.

While the Evoque has enjoyed nice sales numbers propelling JLR forward, the British company knows it has no choice but to keep its vehicle as relevant as possible to keep netting buyers. Spied in these shots for the very first time, it doesn't look like too much is on the agenda from an exterior perspective. Much of it looks the same, exception being the front and rear clips that are camouflaged and/or modified.

If I were a betting man, I'd expect an updated powertrain tuned for better efficiency with a possible diesel offering coming to the States. In addition, given the likes of the Jaguar XE's new infotainment unit, we hope that the unit currently being used in all of JLR's products would see a much-needed update. There's only so much lag a user can take.
