In an interesting move, which has been popping up as of late, an automaker shot its own "spy shots" and released them to the press. Take that in your pipe and smoke it, I guess?

Mercedes-Benz apparently passed along shots of its SLC, or as it's better known the "baby SLS," and made them available to folks. It's an interesting twist but Mercedes and Porsche have done this before.

Far as I can see, it's clear that the SLC will feature a more aggressive front-end treatment than the more elegant and classically inspired SLS. Where things will get particularly interesting is how Mercedes decides to style the rear haunches of the vehicle. Though the vehicle is highly camouflaged, if you leaf through the images you can see the shutlines seem to indicate it will be a fastback. Definitely an interesting route to take.

How this will fit into the brand's pricing structure is beyond us. We assume it will come in around the SL-Class' price and square up with the likes of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Audi R8, Jaguar F-Type and Porsche 911.

That said, check out the full collection of snaps below and let us know what you're seeing...
