Although it seems like today is Mercedes-Benz overload day, it just seems that the three-pointed star has the most going on this morning. And boy, one observation a keen observer would note is that Mercedes-Benz is really expanding its entry-level product lineup, which will be based on the A and B-Class products.

There's the A and B-Class to start with. Then there's the CLA/CLC "baby CLS," THIS newly spied vehicle, the GLA, and a rumored Shooting Brake. That would tally up to five all-new models.

So far there hasn't been any mention of what will actually appear stateside.

The GLA, seen here for the first time, is expected to go up against the likes of the BMW X1 and Range Rover Evoque per Auto Express' speculation. That would also align it to go head-to-head with the likes of MINI's freshly leaked Paceman.

The Mercedes A-Class is about to spawn a compact SUV, and these are the very first spy pictures of the high-riding newcomer. Concealed underneath a standard A-Class body, the new model will rival the BMW X1 and Range Rover Evoque when it arrives in showrooms in 2014.

Although this is our first glimpse, it's no secret that this model is on the way. Speaking at the start of production of the A-Class at Mercedes’ Rastatt plant in Germany two months ago, Mercedes CEO Dr Dieter Zetsche said: “The compact SUV will be ?the third model we will build here in Rastatt.”
