Likely one of the most exciting stages of a vehicle undergoing development is when the camouflage starts to peel off. Sometimes automakers are more revealing than others and decide to slow the process down; however, our friends at Mercedes-Benz have decided to show off quite a bit this time around.

I've been watching the SLS AMG Black Series spy photos very carefully and it seemed like the past couple of months we went through a "dry spell." Simply nothing came up! Now this week it's back and finally we're starting to see some daylight with this product!

For the first time, we're seeing the SLS AMG Black's face and it's unique rear spoiler. We had a hunch that something was up as the initial prototypes were ALWAYS spotted with the rear spoiler in the up position.

Its facade features much more venting to cool what is likely a forced induction V8 powerplant. Note the two LARGE intakes underneath the headlights and beneath those intakes there are two more. We're guessing this is the track package as it appears to be sporting carbon fiber splitters a la the C63 AMG Black Series.

One interesting bit will be what Mercedes-Benz does to its hood. From the looks of it there's quite a bit of camo, so I'd assume that there will be some more venting to help keep that motor as cool as possible.
