One car that has had its story become a bit more complex in recent weeks is whatever Mercedes-AMG has been up to with its soon-to-be-announced GT something. See, that's the thing.

We don't know if it's a Black Series or a rumored GT3.

What we do know, at this point, is that it will not be officially dubbed "GT3," however, that's exactly what it's aiming to go up against — the Porsche 911 GT3. Of course, it won't be anything like the Porsche given the AMG is front-engined and equipped with a V8. Where the Benz will be similar is its expected to create more downforce than the standard car with various aerodynamic tricks, which of course, will create more drag. Clearly, it will not be seeking record-breaking top speeds. In addition, it will feature the use of new lightweight materials to drop its weight and an all-new suspension to keep it planted at the track.

For the power hungry, you should be happy to hear that the company is expected to give it a bump in power via a motor churning out upwards of 600 horsepower. Please keep in mind this is speculation, but folks are pointing to a 600 horsepower, next-gen E63 as the source for this GT's juice.

If I were betting money on it, I think this all-new GT will be a Black Series. I could be wrong, but that's a risk I am willing to take.
