For me, it's been very exciting to watch Jaguar Land Rover get back up on its feet after years of merely putting out "meh" vehicles. You know, ones that would end up in the shop on a consistent basis.

Who would have thought that Tata's involvement would spur such innovation, growth and fantastic designs? Here, here! I'll pour one out for the large Indian conglomerate.

After seeing the all-new Jaguar sport-utility vehicle concept, the C-X17, in the flesh, I have to say I am mightily impressed. After the XJ's success, the Evoque, the F-Type, the all-new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, these guys are on a roll.

So, how will it do when it creates an entry-level luxury competitor? We've seen them try it with the X-Type, which failed miserably, but we're confident this time will be different.

The latest spy shots show what is essentially an all-new chassis that's bodied with a highly modified XF. Check out how the track is much narrower than the body. And, how about those XF headlights that look absolutely MASSIVE in this iteration.

Clearly this is going to be a much smaller vehicle along the lines of I would guess the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class, Audi A3 and BMW 2-Series.

That said, we've seen what the other guys are bringing to the table. We're a bit curious:

What does Jaguar HAVE TO DO to be competitive with the all-new CLA, A3 and 2-Series?
