Now you may have noticed that when Lexus debuted the all-new NX that an all-new powertrain came to be. That would be the NX200's 2.0-liter four-cylinder mill good for just under 240 horsepower and 256 lb-ft. of torque.

Those of you who have piloted an IS250 would probably know by now that its underpowered engine can be frustrating at times. That and its transmission are a bit of an archaic pairing. 204 horsepower mated to a six-speed? What year is it, 2008?

Although it's a bit of speculation at this point, most believe that the 250's motor is due to be swapped out with the NX's all-new four banger. Seems like it would be a move in the right direction if Lexus wishes to remain competitive and equip its vehicles with the latest and greatest technology.

Assuming that's the case, there's a pretty damn good chance that TFLCar spotted the very first IS200t on U.S. soil right here in Colorado.

As of now there's no timeframe for when an IS200t would become reality, but knowing Lexus it will appear at the 2015 New York Auto Show. Just a guess though.
