You don't have to look too far to see that Volkswagen has been hurting. Though the company pre-Dieselgate was moving units on a global basis, it seemed that VW's efforts in The States were a bit sterile.

SPIED! Volkswagen Tiguan

Just ask Mdarringer. He's been saying for what feels like far too long that Volkswagen's biggest hold in the portfolio was the lack of a proper seven-seat sport-utility vehicle. Well, it seems like the company finally has heard.

While we've shown you the spy snaps of a long-wheelbase Tiguan for the Chinese market, we've got some all-new pictures to share with you. That would be a completely bare LWB Tiguan doing its testing right here in the US-of-A.

Though it may not seem like a big deal, this is a clear indication that the company will be shipping it here. Typically, automakers do some product testing here to make sure that the vehicle is optimally tuned for the U.S.-market.

According to reports, expect it to arrive in Q1 2017. With an additional four plus inches in the wheelbase and a longer rear overhang, its expected to offer a foldable third row that can be best used by children rather than adults.

As diesels are the work of the devil now, expect it to benefit from the Tiguan's standard issue, gasoline motors.
