Although I am sure a lot of folks will disagree with me on this, probably one of the most exciting new vehicle debuts going on at Porsche is the upcoming four-cylinder Boxster and Cayman. There's simple reasoning for this. It's a great product.

I gave the Cayman S last year's number one spot for my Top 007 of 2013 for a multitude of reasons. Primarily, the vehicle is insanely well balanced and makes you want to drive more every single time you get behind the wheel. In short, it's brilliant.

So, how does it get better? Lighten up the motor via a flat four-cylinder set up and add a turbo. That's what is going on as we speak. Hell, we've already heard the Porsche flat four.

At this stage we don't expect there to be too many changes aside from a facelift across the Boxster/Cayman lineup. From what I can see in the set of spy shots, it appears that the vehicle will get updated headlights and taillights, as well as a new front valence. I feel pretty confident this is the flat four variant as keen observers will note those brakes are pretty basic.
