The Tesla Model 3 has been a bit of a mystery for a variety of reasons. When will it release? What will it really look like? What's up with its super minimalist interior?

Well, we may be starting to get some idea with at least one of those items, the interior.

While we all got a good look at it during the little event Tesla threw to "launch" the vehicle and get hand raisers interested to make deposits, not much has been seen since. It was clearly a concept-like specification back then but from the latest image it doesn't appear that much has changed. An image has found its way online via an anonymous source that does not wish to be named. According to Electrek, they believe it is from a Tesla corporate party.

The snap shows a Model 3 looking very similar to what we've previously seen except it has a new steering wheel. Although keen observers will point out it doesn't even have HVAC vents, if you note there is a horizontal "slot" where HVAC will emit. There doesn't appear to be a head's up display binnacle in front of the dashboard but that doesn't mean it isn't a possibility. We're thinking this is still an early-stage prototype.

So, uh, where's the passenger side airbag? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

...When the Model 3 was unveiled in March 2016, it was at night; aside from a few pictures, the interior was never clearly shown in daylight. Tesla has prohibited pictures of the interior of the prototypes in all other official outings and photoshoots since – presumably because it will change and Tesla doesn’t want people expecting that it will look like what we see now.

A new picture emerged online recently. We can’t trace it back to an original source other than an anonymous imgur link, but it seems to be from Tesla’s corporate party in San Jose last month. (update – the person who took the picture wishes to stay anonymous but sent us the full resolution picture)...
