It was only a couple of years ago we all were wondering exactly what Mercedes-Benz was doing. Its products were OK and were in a much better place than approximately a decade ago when reliability — hard to believe — was in the can and the styling was questionable.
Something was just missing from the three-pointed star's picture. It wasn't a good scene.
But in the past 12 months, I'd argue that Mercedes-Benz is better than ever. Its latest model launches — the 2014 S-Class and 2014 CLA-Class — are off to positive results and the pipeline is looking very fruitful. Designs are more cohesive and enticing with cars like the all-new C-Class ready to take aim at the Audi A4 and BMW 3-Series.
And then there was the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show where the Vision Gran Turismo easily trumped all else in the convention center.
