As I've noted SO many times by now, sound it probably one of the most critical elements of a positive motoring experience. Hell, I'd even argue that the Lexus LFA is worth the price of admission simply to get that howling V10 and tri-exhaust set up. Thank you, Yamaha!

But sound doesn't just apply to exotics and any auto above the six-figure mark. It also applies to the sports cars most people can have a 'go with. Take, for example, the all-new BMW M3 and M4.

The vehicle's been snapped just about everywhere at this point and now that the sheets have dropped on the concept, which will likely be VERY close to the production vehicle, the anticipation has reached an all-time high. People are eager as hell.

At least I am.

The latest spy clip comes to us from a dingy underground parking garage in Europe. According to the YouTube clip's poster, the M3 had just underwent a cold start hence the rather crude exhaust note. It actually reminds me of an idling Ferrari F430. It's not a lovable sound but when you wind 'er up, that's what will get your attention.

While some folks would dismiss this as a "So, what?" you have to keep in mind that people forking over their hard-earned dollars want to know EXACTLY what they're getting into. That's what research and the Internet is for.

So, without further ado...

The new F80 M3: cold start up, low speed maneuvering.
