One vehicle we've been keeping a close eye on is the 2014 Range Rover Sport.

After the debut of the all-new, big daddy 2014 Range Rover and the newer Evoque, we have to say that Range Rover seems to be doing the right thing. And, I'd argue that it is likely the brand's most exciting time in its history.

So far from what we've seen the Sport will feature a mixed design consisting of elements from the big daddy Range and the Evoque.

What's interesting to note from the YouTube clip below is that this is the first mention of six-cylinder motors being used in the Sport. And, from what I hear from the vehicle's hard acceleration, that is likely the new, 340 horsepower six being used in the XJ luxury sedan. Having driven that vehicle, I can confidently say it is a GREAT powertrain.

In addition, a bonus. The spies capturing this find got a snap of the Sport's interior.

The 2014 Range Rover Sport out testing the Mojave Desert. I'm a big Land Rover fan so I'm excited to see how this one turns out. I'm really liking the interior, the fit and finish on current RR are really nice. A few of the prototypes were definitely V6's. It'll be interesting to see if they can bump up the highway MPG to somewhere in the mid to high 20's range.
