Well, well, well. What do we have here?

It appears that Hyundai may be working on an all-new engine for the Hyundai Genesis sedan. As of now you can pick one up at a local dealer with either a 3.8-liter six-cylinder or a 5.0-liter V8.

That seems likely to change as the vehicle is still quite new and a prototype was video'd abroad.

Considering how many automakers are dipping their toes into the water with 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engines in luxury sedans and sport-utility vehicles, it doesn't seem to be a stretch that Hyundai would follow suite. After all, it has to remain class competitive with the likes of Audi, BMW, Infiniti, Lexus, et al.

But, if you listen closely note that you'll also hear a racket at about the 40 second mark. Could it be a diesel specifically built for the European market? If so, the Korean automaker may want to reevaluate its decision after the latest automotive industry happenings.

Having said all this, what say YOU, Spies? Is this research and development Genesis a turbo, a diesel or a turbodiesel?

The testdriver of this 2017 Hyundai Genesis what I have spotted at the fuel station near the Nurburgring was not very happy with me and my video camera..

Sorry guys this is not a supercar this time! ;)
