It doesn't take a Rhodes Scholar to figure out that the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe is not meant to be a racecar. It's a grand touring car that's meant to square up against the likes of Bentley, for crying out loud.

So, why would the three-pointed star's engineers put it on the world famous Nürburgring and punish it? Well, that's because it's their job to stress test its products.

Though you'll likely see the all-new 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe wafting along your local boulevards, don't expect to see it tackling corners THIS aggressively. You'll have to check out the video clip below to see what I mean.

On Thursday the 27th of March Mercedes-Benz was testing a couple of new S-class Coupes on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. We believe the car with the camouflage is the new S500. There was also an undisguised S 63 AMG Coupe driving around. Enjoy the video!
