As you may have noticed by now, we've been tracking the all-new Mercedes-Benz MLC quite closely. Though we've shown you snaps of the standard MLC and the AMG variant, something particularly interesting popped up this week.

That would be an MLC AMG that's sporting an ORANGE paint job. It's not just the standard body panels, either. Apparently the entire vehicle seems to benefit from the bright orange paint.

According to Auto Express, this particular MLC is being used for safety testing. Makes sense as all the safety cars that get crashed are orange when they meet their maker.

Another interesting little thing to note: the license plate on the vehicle clearly reads "misuse." I am not sure if this is an inside joke between the company's engineers or it's a subtle social media marketing message, but I am not getting it at the moment.

The ML’s sleeker sister was previewed by the Concept Coupe at the Beijing Motor Show in April, and has since been spied testing at the Nürburgring.

Mercedes is now at work honing the safety systems on its super-SUV, which is why this high-performance AMG version has been spied with slow-motion camera-friendly colouring on its grilles, mirrors and exhaust pipes.
