Ford global powertrain boss Bob Fascetti revealed the company is considering more frugal versions of the new Mustang to meet increasingly stricter fuel consumption and emissions standards.

The 2015 Mustang will be available upon launch with a choice of three gasoline engines (3.7-liter V6, 2.3-liter 4-cylinder EcoBoost and a 5.0-liter V8) but during its lifespan it could receive less thirstier motors  as a move to meet more stringent fuel consumption and emission standards.
