Worries about the safety are making women more wary than men about ever owning a driverless car.

In a survey of 1,028 randomly chosen Americans last month by NerdWallet, a personal finance website, only 37% of women and 50% of men said they might someday own a driverless car.

Other noteworthy findings include the following: More than half the women (55%) cited concern about safety as the biggest drawback of the new technology. But only 37% of men expressed worries about safety.
