After driving the Mercedes-Benz C400 a year or two ago, I have to say it was a breakthrough moment for me when it came to Mercedes-Benz. It's simple. To me it was clear that the company was paying attention to the driving experience and was starting to ship products that had the triple threat.

1) The vehicle looks great on the outside.

2) The vehicle looks great on the inside.

3) The vehicle drives excellent — that includes a balance high-performance driving as well as luxurious ride quality.

When I hopped behind the wheel of the AMG GT it further cemented that. That's because the rather heavy and clunky feeling of the three-pointed star evaporated. The GT feels nimble, lithe and super capable when being pushed.

You cannot say the same thing for the SLS AMG, which felt very cumbersome.

Now the company is expanding its GT lineup to include not only the GT R, but also the GT C. This is the Roadster variant that will be fitted with a soft top.

Given that the company has released a teaser, we think it will appear for the first time in October.

Stay tuned, Spies!
