Looking back at the C6 Chevrolet Corvette, it was amazing to see how General Motors progressed from the C5. Overall, however, it was a particularly rough vehicle.

While I will be the first to admit that the car was fun, its interior was the laughing stock of the automotive industry. The head's up display and the infotainment system's head unit looked as though they were designed in the 1990s. Fake carbon fiber trim, which was god awful plastic, adorned the center stack, and the rather large embroidered "Corvette" on the passenger dash made me want to vomit. And then there was the ride quality that gave your kidneys a punching.

It was the definition of a cheesy vehicle.

When Chevrolet debuted the C7, however, it was clear GM took a step back and focused on the development of the Corvette. It was a world's difference. Then came the Z06 that redefined what sports cars had to be to compete in the space.

And now here comes the follow up, the ZR1. Expected to produce about 750 horsepower, this will be the most badass Corvette on offer. Equipped with a large fixed rear spoiler — a la the Porsche 911 GT3RS — and budge in the hood, it's going to be a purposeful looking machine.

While we cannot confirm whether or not it will lose weight, we're hoping that's the case. Expect much more aggressive aerodynamic tricks and cooling to be the primary objective. Add to that a heaping of more power.

Tomorrow's the big day. Until then though, scope out the teaser via the Corvette's Instagram page, below.
