Just when you thought you were out, they pull you back in. McLaren’s MSO division is keeping busy right now not only with the 570GT one off it created, but in addition to that, there’s the 688HS.

You know, the car that was leaked last week and we’ve gotten just a glimpse of. Well, more information has come to light and we’re bringing you the nitty gritty.

So, all that stuff we told you about the car having 679 horsepower is true. According to reports the torque figure remains the same as the 675LT, which stands at a rather impressive 516 lb.-ft. As you’d expect with a more extreme version it features an assload of more carbon fiber and it also gains a scoop on the roof. While McLaren has said these are not producing any performance gains, it is said to add more to the aural, in-cabin experience. Note the use of carbon fiber canards and the rather massive rear spoiler. All of this carbon translates into nearly 90 pounds of weight eliminated.

As of now no official performance numbers have been released by McLaren. We’re just going to assume it’s faster than the 675LT. If it’s not, then what’s the point?

Oh, yeah. If you want one, you’re S.O.L. All of the rumored 25 units are claimed.
