When the first press information about the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat appeared, we found it a bit odd that the company would not officially list its horsepower. Once and a while a company will do this, but when it says the car will have 600 plus horsepower, usually that means 610 or so.
Chrysler Group, on the other hand, played it entirely differently. That's because the all-new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has over 700 horsepower. 707 to be precise.
I guess it makes sense why the car is earth-shattering loud now.
The Hellcat arrives in dealers Q3 2014 and pricing should come in short order.

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Is The Most Powerful Muscle Car Ever -- 707 hp!
July 1, 2014 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - The all-new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT, with its supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat engine, produces an unprecedented 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque, making it the most powerful Challenger ever, Dodge's most powerful V-8 ever and the most powerful muscle car ever.
The Challenger's new 6.2-liter Supercharged Hellcat engine is also the first factory supercharged HEMI, as well as Dodge and SRT's first application of V-8 supercharger technology.
