Well, last I read Jaguar had approximatly 7,000 pre-orders for the XF.

Those do not happen to be to fleets either as Jaguar ceased selling to, in particular rental fleets, at the end of 2006. This is why the sales structure inversion appreared only in 2007- it was being masked by fleet sales.

^^^ Infiniti and Lexus never built sports cars. They are in business of rebadging economy cars like Nissan and Toyota.

higher quality advertisement you mean? Because we all know the Japanese cars look and feel like they are made from cardboard.

Mr. Taylor, the problem is you said a sports sedan, Infiniti and lexus are still learning how to build one. Sorry to stir the pot so to speak, I could not resist.

'Bama - Well, truth be told Forbes readers are more likely to be able to afford the autos they are interested in. And yes, because you make a good income can mean you are also an enthusiast.

Stop being a whining socialist.

"Researched List" not performance or quality or cars that enthusiasts picked. Definitely some nice cars on the list - It would be nice to see the demographic of the survey.

"Badges, we don't need no stinkin badges." Lexus/Acura/Infiniti make good cars designed for buyers "moving-up" for respective maker. My bro-in-law has owned Acura TL, MDX, Infiniti QX4 and current Q45(05). When he drove my BMW 550, he diliked seats because he "felt more of the car." Enough said. Relax Bama and MT. Serenity now!

In the US, yes, but globally? Not even close.

But anyway, popularity doesn't correlate with interest. In fact, it could be the opposite... some people just want something different, more exclusive, especially luxury car buyers. Do you see the Toyota Camry topping this list?

Ignore this idiot.
Anyone with a brain knows that Lexus is outsold by a wide margin by its German competition globally.

Lexus and BMW fans are equally the worst. If the world could get rid of them it would be a better place. However that would mean all of the old as well as the idiot republican party (Bush Supporters) would kill off respectively.

yup there are way too few audis on the list.

but for those who know lexus and BMW just from the showroom ... compare a well used 5 year old BMW with a Lexus and you will know the difference ...starting with the nice recaro seats

Look at the list: it's dominated by BMW.

The closest second is Mercedes-Benz, with an incredible two cars on the list.

The three others--Jaguar, Porsche and Audi--have one each.
