Top Gear Trouble: Clarkson damages African ecosystem
Top Gear is in trouble yet again, with environmentalist after Jeremy Clarkson may have caused ‘decades’ worth of damage to a delicate African ecosystem. The Top Gear crew has been criticised for driving over the Makgadikgadi salt plains in Botswana, one of the last largest zebra migrations in Africa and home to flamingos and other birds.

Mary Rice, head of the Environmental Investigation Agency campaigns, said: ‘…salt plains are very different. There is a thin crust that falls across the top and when you put vehicle tracks there it doesn’t wash away with the rain. It can be there for decades... Read Article

Is there something I'm not getting here? The big to-do is about a tire track? This must be some kind of joke. I don't think it's April 1st though. What kind of impact can this tire track have on a herd of zebra? If they were so concerned about it they should have said something about it before they made the trek from the UK. Something doesn't smell right.

They could have just came to the Utah Salt Flats though, so no need to mess with Botswana.
