I wonder how many Hyundai's are sold in Japan and if Japan slaps them with big tariff's.

Knowing how the Korean government works, I'm sure there will be an insanely high tariff added to the cost of the cars. Korea isn't exactly consumer goods friendly when it comes to Japanese goods.

I'm Korean by the way.

It's not just against Japanese cars it's all foreign cars. IIRC, Korean manufacturers have 96% of the South Korean car market while Japanese manufacturers only have 95% of the Japanese market.

On a related note, Korean electronics giant Samsung stopped selling consumer products in Japan last year due to poor sales.

On a completely unrelated topic, I think its strange that S.Korea only pays around 40% of the costs of having a US presence in their country. Generally, host countries foot atleast 50% of the costs (i.e. Japan).

I'm surprised the Korean market is so closed, I would've figured BMW/MB and anything European would have atleast a 50% marketshare.
