Reviewing cars isn’t such a bad gig if you can find the work. There’s just a couple catches:

1) It doesn’t pay; and,

2) If it does pay, you better be damn good at your job.

If you’ve tuned into the rebooted Top Gear featuring Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc, you would know by now that Evans falls into the second bucket. The problem is he’s not that good. Frankly, this isn’t much of a surprise given the pre-release reports that indicated Evans was having problems in front of the camera — remember, he made his nut as a radio broadcaster — and that he couldn’t even keep food/drink down when Sabine Schmitz took him for a lap .

Turns that ‘ol chap Chris isn’t much of a nice guy either with word that he treats the crew poorly. In other words, he’s a diva. I have another word for that.

According to the latest reports via The Sun, which is a tabloid paper in the U.K., a BBC executive is scheduling a sit down with Evans to sort things out. If he doesn’t like the new direction then he can “sod off,” as they say.

That would give LeBlanc more room to grow the program with another host — or two — since he is the most well-liked presenter thus far.

Stay tuned for the latest as this story develops this summer. If I was betting, I’d say Evans is getting the boot after this season is finito.
