USA Today says you will pay a lot for the Lexus LS600h but it delivers
The power of a V-12, Lexus says, and the fuel economy you'd get from a big-displacement V-6 in an all-wheel-drive car. Translated, about 20 miles per gallon on the windows sticker, about 18 on the byways around here, including a spirited frolic on the snaking Angeles Crest Highway. On which, it should be noted, the car handled more crisply than you'd expect, given the non-sporting reputation of Lexus' big cars.
At that level of price and performance, who cares about mileage, you might ask. Why, says Lexus, those super-affluent buyers it is trying to lure. They want to feel good, or less bad, about their luxury car indulgence. Hardly a 50-mpg Prius, but the 600h does get better mileage than its rivals, and poops 70% fewer objectionables out the tailpipes, Lexus explains. Less effluent from the affluent.

See, Lexus is the future of all humanity.
Sometime in the future, aliens will come to earth, only to bask in the glory that is Lexus.

I own an LS460 but it is not the future of all humanity my little friend. I also own an S550 and it's great. Lexus knows what kind of competition they have to face. It's not easy in this segment. Their all such great cars.

Hi all, long time reader, first time commenter. ive been coming on this website for over a year now, and all i see is toyolex ppl Bashing ppl who preffer german cars. and i also noticed the "toyolex" crowd cant spell for jack SH*T. typos on top of typos.
Ohh and thats all lexus have going on for themselves, technology. Bland interior and exterior designs, dry and boring ride/handling. and in the end, u still end up with a toyota.
seriously, when u tell someone u drive a BMW, Audi, MB, or Porsche, the other person will know & think u drive a BMW, Audi, MB, or Porsche.
But when you drive a Lexus, most ppl i know will go "ohh Thats a Toyota, great reliability!" in their heads.
Plus the presitge and heritage that comes with most german cars cant be matched by any of the Japanese Lux Sedans. So PLEASE, if all you toyolex ppl have inferiority complex, go to your shrink. dont take it out on the inventors of the Luxury Sedans. Its not all Technology.
PS Lexusnumberone4ever, no offense but u have no creativity, hence the nick, and buying a 70K+ car isnt the way to save the environment or humanity, if u really wanna do that, go buy a prius, corolla, or civic

I'll throw in the five dollars I won in another thread.
Houstoncutie, are you serious?! Bentley and Rolls? Hahaha... I can understand how you don't want to disclose your source since you don't have any... And please learn to use your caps lock button because writing in all caps makes my eyes hurt and makes you look like an idiot... Ohh wait... It's not the all caps that makes you look like an idiot...
BTW: I would like to ad the Jaguar XJ lang to the list... And that is even available with a real V12, not a V8 with the power of a V12... And it isn't even imaginary like the one you are talking about.
It's people like you who makes people hate Lexus so much, it has nothing to do with the cars, but with the rabid fanboys...

You have something to back that imaginary V12 up? Other than your word, which I don't take for much? Or did your secret source, AKA yourself, tell you that?

it amazes me how much of an idiot you are. i don't know where to start. ..but here's a hint for you...a CVT is a TRANSMISSION, not an engine. you MORON!
now go to bed, Junior high starts early in the morning.
(you know, now that i think about it, maybe if we all typed in caps he'd understand more...naah.)

But, the Lexus doesn't fit the home.

The second paragraph sums up the idea behind the LS hybrid. It's amazing that MOST auto reviewers can recognize what Lexus is doing, but MOST readers on this site cannot...

e34, What? A clown to entertain a clown?! That doesn't make any sence...
Hey cutie... Why didn't you find something where they've mixed in some numbers? Because though they might have had their largest proportional increase in sales, they are still FAR FAR FAR behind the German cars...

Percentages don't matter you idiot. they're not going to grow 20%/month forever. I've been making fun of the Lexus fans who are like you, but youre taking this too far... i really do have a GX470 and its nice, but its not the best SUV in the world.

Up in the stratosphere where the temp's like 0 C or 32F, the speed of sound is 774 mph = Mach 1.

I still like the car a lot, but I wish they would've done the blue logo trim differently. Looks like the spray can thing in Micosoft Paint made it.

the other day i found myself behind an ls460, it still had no license plate. i did like the end and admired the exhaust. when the car went over a small dip on the street, it started to take several jumps up and down. and this was a fine paved street and i could hardly feel the dip when i went over it in my car. but the lexus kept wobling up and down a bit. so i was like, wtf? what would happend to this ls600h when it goes over that same small dip on a well paved street. will it slams in back end, scrape the underside (batteries???) cause a major rebound and lift the rear end into the air while the driver gawks and rams right into it.

Sick of this...
Does ANBYODY really expect this car to get a bad review? Did ANYBODY on the site say they "hated" this car? It's a damn top-of-the-line luxury sedan! So what if some people (myself included) prefer a Mercedes S600? Nobody is going to convince anyone of anything- we're all too stubborn! Get that through your thick skulls!
