In the world of sports cars, I have to say that 2013 was a good year. In a day and age where the focus on mpg is up and the concept of burning rub and fuel is down, it's remarkable to see the industry experiencing a schism. Essentially you have two sides: practicality and efficiency, then unadulterated passion for driving.

Of course unadulterated is a relative term these days with all the gadgets and gizmos keeping drivers safe.

With enthusiasts becoming a dwindling minority it's nice to see that cars for petrolheads are still being churned out at a good clip. That said, one BIG European publication gathered up the best of the best and tried to figure out the inevitable as we begin Q3: WHICH sports car is this year's best?

Though there was a slew of vehicles to pick from, it boiled down to the following three:

- McLaren MP4-12C Spyder
- Porsche 911 (991) GT3
- Ferrari F12

I won't give away the winner BUT I will say that's a helluva selection to choose from as each product really stands out in its own particular way.
