The Infiniti Q50 has held a pretty mild reception since its debut. Since I haven't been behind the wheel I cannot exactly ascertain why except for the simple fact Infinti lacks a certain "hook" that other cars in the entry-level luxury space have.

This is why we're excited to see what Infiniti has concocted with the all-new Q50 Eau Rouge.

We've noted that due to Infiniti's tie-up with Red Bull Racing and Sebastian Vettel supposedly having some say — not sure if this is an honorary title or if he's really involved — with Infinti's performance vehicles, it's clear the vehicle will be influenced by Formula One.

Not to mention the car's name is derived from the uphill section of the Belgian F1 track.

And, the original teaser shot shows a Q50 sporting a front valence that looks familiar — FX50 Vettel edition, anyone?

Oh, AND Infiniti just released a promotional spot that blatantly shows the merging of F1 and a standard Q50.

We're just a bit curious how hardcore Nissan's Infiniti group will take it.

I think we speak for the greater automotive community when we say that we were disappointed with the FX50 Vettel Edition as it didn't provide a significant power boost and it cost an arm and a leg. Hopefully the boys and girls at Infiniti don't make the same mistake twice.
