Hey Kalimbo, I don't hear ya chimin' in when somebody says that the LF-A sucks balls, now, huh?

I love people who love to change their arguments just to suit the circumstances; that is the true sign of a mental midget.

I looked at the video again, and I can honestly not see how people can already be dissing it and calling it - as Kabimbo says - "another wannabe sports car". Watch the video WITHOUT your bias-goggles on.

For Christ sake, this car moves, and it moves with agility and accelerates like no tomorrow!

Oh wait, it's Japanese, it must suck....

Lambo = Tractors.

So, now if the the LF-A were better than the competetition in ever single way, their only selling point would be "history"? What, are you marrying the car? You have to know about who's daddy owned it and how many races they won with a car?

I would rather buy something based on its credentials and how it matches up with my needs and wants, rather on some fluff story that couldn't make a difference in my conncection with the car itself.

You say that Lamborghini's are tractors. Well, they were, they started off as tractors. But does that mean that Lamborghini don't make proper cars. Their origins are irrelevant, the fact, is, they make cars now, they haven't made tractors in years. Look at Hyundai, they make cheap crappy cars that no one likes. To me, that is worse than being a tractor.

I agree!

If there is ANY car that should be taken seriously by the all-important German FanBois, it is this car.

The LF-A looks quite gorgeous even with the camo on. Also, the way that the LF-A drove that course,... wow, it is actually like poetry (I am not being sarcastic). You can tell that Lexus put all of its resources into making this car capable of kicking ass left and right.

This car is an instant classic - mark my words.

Good job, Lexus!

You can totally tell the performance capability of the IS-F before even driving it or reading a comparo/road test.

Yes, the LF-A looks better, but it should.

The IS-F styling rubbed me the wrong way when I saw it for the first time when it was unveiled, but it has steadily grown on me. It looks great in white... and yes, even in blue.

agreed.

the IS was going to bury the 3-series when it launched in 2006.

the GS450h was going to blow the 5-series and E-class off the road.

the LS600h was going to flash its high beams at the S600 to pass.

gosh, none of these things happened. do we see a trend here?

The IS350 gave way to the 335i.

Lexus doing hybrids has BMW and Mercedes now planning hybrids.

The LS is now dubbed the most technologically-advanced car of it's time, a title that once belonged exclusively to the S-Class.

Stop making sweeping statements based off of speculative C&D reviews. Do you realize how foolish and stupid you Lexus haters look?

Sorry, but I don't take selective clips from articles to dance around a debate like a child.

The A4 and C are really nice cars, and so is the IS and 3. You guys will go through any extent to dismiss it, even if that makes the A4 and C look bad compared to the Lexus.

I will post to you, enthusiastx, what I did in another blog...

"the Lexus IS 350 ($49,100 CAD base price) is a real bargain compared to the 335i ($49,900 CAD base price).

Even with fully loaded packages, the 335i leaves the IS 350 in the dust with premium options ($64,516 for the IS 350 vs. $64,935 for the 335i). But, I guess the Lexus is the bargain, because the 335i doesn't even get ventilated/cooled seats."

"The LS is now dubbed the most technologically-advanced car of it's time, a title that once belonged exclusively to the S-Class."

Oh please.. RUBBISH!

The most technologically advanced vehicle is the Bugatti Veyron, but that car stands above anything. Realistically speaking the S-class is still the king, closely followed by BMW and Audi. Lexus also makes great cars from a technological point of view but many of the technologies found are either copied, renamed or improved. Did you know Lexus didn't invent the self-parking vehicle? BMW did. But Lexus was the first to put it in production - sure that deserves some respect. But they are not the creators. Almost all of the technologies found in current cars were first seen on the S-class. Not only the major things like airbags, ABS, climate control, that new type of airsuspension or whatever but also LED rear lights or the indicator light in the mirror.. I believe the 3rd braking light was invented by some American bloke. Brilliant still.

I guess some people around these parts like BRANDS, not CARS; that is how you tell the posers from the real car fans.

I'm definitely excited about this car, I want to know how it drives, feels, sounds, smells,..

But the supercar market is the most difficult market to enter. And Lexus - as a newcomer - will have a hard time. How a supercar feels is much more important that sheer engineering (this is where Germany scores). The soul of a supercar is the most important part. When driving it you should feel the creator breathing in your neck. (this is where the Italians score) There have been a lot of newcomers in this market that failed but none of them had the budget Lexus has. In the last decade only ONE supercar has made a succesful entry in the supercar market and if can guess which one we will continue this conversation.

This is funny. How all of you German fan boys think your company and its halo sports car comes just from years of history. Well what do you think when Mercedes or BMW introduced their first sport car? I bet before anyone speculated that Mercedes or BMW would make good sports cars, people just thought it was just "some luxury automaker". Then BAM! they develop a great car. Very well for Lexus to pull off the same. This car no doubt looks good and sounds great. As it is will be the halo sports car of Lexus. So im willing to bet that Lexus isnt taking any chances to make this car truely compete with Germany's finest.

Its not really about corresponding competitive models. Its more about how a company can make luxury cars and then create a competitive halo sports car. All the German fan boys here flame on the LFA just cause Lexus has no "history" to show it can make sports cars. That goes for ANY MAJOR CARMAKER, all companies started out somewhere smaller before it made itself a recognizable icon.
