The 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show marked the debut of an all-new Porsche. Dubbed the Macan, it's the old-school marque's second sport-utility vehicle to go-to-market. It's an exciting time to see Porsche bring forward another auto that keeps the barrier of entry fairly low.

A lot of folks are criticizing the Macan for being relatively expensive but we'll decide once we get behind the wheel. It's easy to speculate right now but there may be a good reason for its cost.

In an interesting move, Porsche has produced not one, but two videos speaking to the Macan and how it carries Porsche's DNA. Sounds like the boys and girls from Stuttgart have a bit of an insecurity problem. Sure, some purists will whine but I think the overall buying public will prove — once again — that the company made the right decision and will bring more consumers into the Porsche family.

That said, take a look at the following videos below and let us know: Are YOU buying it — not the car, but the story lines about how the Macan is linked to the legends of Porsche.

What makes a Porsche a Porsche? Instant recognition, some would say. Others would perhaps speak of the face in the crowd. The answer of our engineers is Porsche DNA. Take a closer look in this video. For more information, visit: http://www.porsche.com/macan

We create sports cars. For us, though, power output is not the be all and end all. Emotions are our main development objective. Take a look in this video.
